English Question

Please answer ALL of the questions below as you reflect on the implications of goal theory in our everyday lives.
1) Consider the following questions about mastery orientations and use reasoning to answer the following questions?
Assume you have a mastery orientation. What motivation would you have to cheat in this class? Why (use evidence from the readings to support your answer)?
When given a choice between an easy assignment or a hard assignment that results in more learning, what would a student with mastery orientation choose? Why (use evidence from the readings to support your answer)?
2) The game show “The Weakest Link” was set up with rules that specifically emphasized a performance avoidance orientation. Nobody wanted to be the weakest link and get voted off! Likewise, well-known fictional characters (e.g., Ted Lasso as Mastery-focused) and real-life people (e.g., Lance Armstrong the cyclist as Performance-focused) also may serve as fitting examples of various goal orientations.
Come up with your own example (e.g., game shows, competitions, fictional characters, or real life people) for each of the goal orientations (i.e., one Mastery, one Performance Approach, and one Performance Avoidance). Be sure to provide A DETAILED explanation and context as evidence for your position (2-4 sentences each). This will allow your instructor to understand why you selected that orientation and evaluate your understanding of the content based on your explanation. Note that in many cases that individuals or games could have more than one orientation (e.g., one might argue Armstrong as Performance Approach OR Performance Avoidance, depending on the evidence provided), so be sure to be clear about why you argue for your own answer.
Your total response length should be approximately 300-400 words and should express what you learned from the course learning content. As you write out your responses, be sure to use key terms and quotations that illustrate your content mastery and cite the materials appropriately (APA format is preferred).
