Geography Question

Must post first.

Planet Earth is our only home, yet every day you see the impact of mankind upon its varied and glorious natural landscapes. Oil slicks in the Gulf of Mexico from a British Petroleum (BP) spill; polar bears stranded on melting ice flows (due to anthropogenic global warming); acre after acre of agricultural lands under human control and manipulation; unsustainable plunder of fossil fuels, vast trash zones like the Great Pacific Garbage Vortex; deforestation in Borneo; loss of biodiversity in nature, and much more. Your task is to watch the environmental film linked below titled “Before the Flood”. This documentary focus on anthropogenic climate change (AKA human-induced global warming). It streams easily on your computer via Amazon.com or via the “free” link provided below. After viewing the film you will post a response in the discussion section that covers the following seven items:
1. one issue of human environmental impact (specific to a place in the film),
2. one location in the U.S. that is already affected by climate change (briefly explain what is
occurring).
3. one reason you believe certain politicians resist climate data.
4. one issue of mankind acquiring natural resources (specific to the film),
5. one way countries can make a difference in mitigating (limiting) climate change.
6. one way individuals can make a difference in mitigating climate change.
7. finally give an example of how humans may be negatively impacting the environment in your home community (i.e., your hometown, country or surrounding region).
The more descriptive and informative your answer, the better grade you’ll receive. So, not one-sentence responses please. This discussion assignment is worth 50 points–the most of any discussion assignment this semester.
Afterwards, compare your response with those of you classmates. Please respond to at least two other posts. How should you respond to another post? By either agreeing or disagreeing with someone’s response. For example, if someone feels that choosing to ride a bike or walking to a location, when possible, instead of driving, you might agree with this idea and in your post add that there are health benefits that go along with this opting to walk or bike.

Lastly, I’d like you take a quick survey that roughly estimates your carbon footprint based on your lifestyle. Many think that living in a rich, developed country means that we are better stewards of the environment. In some cases, this is true; however, when it comes to energy consumption and our daily routines (getting around, what we eat, how much trash we generate), the U.S. is one of the most wasteful societies on the planet. This http://www.footprintcalculator.org/home/en website will ask you a few general questions about your daily routines. Answer the questions and then tell us your results and why you got the evaluation you did? It will ask you for an email to get started, you can use a bogus one.
