Hi, I want someone to help me with my speech assignment Description of Assignment:In this module, we are exploring how communication shapes and is shaped by our self – concept and self – esteem. In our textbook, there is a reflective exercise about “Ego Boosters and Ego Busters” (on page 43 in the 14th edition and page 68 in the 15th edition.) ‘Ego boosters’ are people who send messages that sincerely and honestly uplift the self – esteem of another person; an ‘ego booster’ sends messages that help the other person feel accepted, important, appreciated and loved.
At formal occasions for important life events, we are often asked to honor people we have a significant relationship with by giving a speech of tribute. We serve as an ‘ego booster’ for the special occasion.
For this speech, you will reflect on someone with whom you have a significant interpersonal relationship and develop a speech honoring two positive qualities expressed by that person. These positive qualities can be qualities such as courage, kindness, honesty, commitment, service, etc. You will develop the speech by sharing specific stories about the person that share how they express those qualities in relationship to you or in other interpersonal relationships. You will share one story for each positive quality.
This assignment consists of two parts: 1) a paper with the written manuscript of the speech, and 2) an oral presentation of the speech.
Part One Instructions:Write out a formal manuscript of a speech for a significant life event honoring a significant person with whom you have an inpersonal relationship in your life:
Choose an individual or couple to honor that you know interpersonally and have a high level of intimacy with.
Choose a specific, hypothetical, life event with a small formal gathering and audience where you would honor the individual or couple—such as a graduation, significant birthday party, funeral, wedding, anniversary, retirement party, going-away party, memorial event, etc. Keep the ocassion intimate and include family and friends in the audience. The focus of the event should be on the honoree(s) and not you (For example, your Dad is graduating from college, rather than you graduating and thanking your Dad at your graduation party).
Do NOT make the ocassion about winning a large public award, like a grammy, etc. Keep the ocassion intimate and include family and friends in the audience.
Speak specifically about where the gathering is occurring (For example, “Thanks for joining us here for a special dinner at C Level for Oscar’s 24th birthday”) and who is in the audience, including the honoree(s) if applicable. For example, (“Oscar, my dear brother, we’re glad you’re here and I’m happy to see Mom, Dad, friends from school like Jorge and KC, co-workers from Dark Horse Coffee, and teammates from the soccer club gathered to honor you tonight.”)
At the end of the introduction to the speech, identify 2 positive qualities expressed by the honoree/s. Make sure these qualities are distinct and different enough from eachother that they will serve as clear separate main points. (For example, being “strong” and “thoughtful” are different enough conceptually, but being “thoughtful” and “kind” are not conceptually different enough).
Use the same two keywords to identify these two qualities throughout the speech. (For example, use the word “thoughtful” consistently and repeat “thoughtful” in the introduction, body, and conclusion. Do not change the word from “thoughtful” to synonyms like “kind,” “helpful,” etc.
For each positive quality, identify a specific, detailed story about them showing each quality. The story should have observable behavioral details that show their uniqueness in everyday life. In each story, DO NOT USE IMPERSONAL examples, such as the honoree interacting publicly with a person on the street (like giving money to a homeless person) or a stranger. Use examples that show them expressing the qualities honored in close interpersonal relationships. Examples of how they specifically interact with you are especially welcome and usually more powerful.
Then write a formal manuscript of the speech (in full sentences and distinct paragraphs)
